NEW DESOTOS TRACKS COMING
The DeSotos are currently recording four brand new originals at the LAB, Auckland for release in the spring of 2024. These are the first new recordings from the band since 2011, and will become part of the forthcoming DeSotos album due for release in 2025. Release date for the first single will be posted here and on our Facebook page!
ACOUSTIC DESOTOS SOUTH ISLAND 2025
The DeSotos acoustic lineup (Paul, Stuart & Vic) will be touring the top of the South Island in March 2025 with dates to be confirmed and announced soon.
AUSTRIA AND UNITED KINGDOM SHOWS
Paul will be performing a series of shows in Austria and the UK this September with violinist Richard Adams and special guests. Full details to be posted on the TOUR page.
COLLEGE HILLBILLIES ALBUM
Paul has been recording live guitar tracks for the last six months with the College Hillbillies, a roots music project featuring some of Auckland's leading musicians. A release date for this album is likely in October, with an associated launch gig to be announced.
THE DESOTOS NORTH ISLAND TOUR
The DeSotos are heading out on a seven-date North Island tour in November, including a Saturday evening slot at the NZ Blues & BBQ Festival, Rotorua, on 30th November. All dates will be on the TOUR page.
JUBILATION CHOIR NOVEMBER SHOW
Paul's choir project Jubilation is performing a collab show with Tigilau Ness, on Sunday 3 November @ New Lynn Community Hall. Tickets will be available through eventfinda.co.nz.
BLUE HORIZON
The album features 11 songs, written and performed by Gurney, an Americana and Roots music artist who has performed for many years as part of The DeSotos. Blue Horizon is the musician’s second solo album and it explores personal themes, developed in Gurney’s writing over the past few years.
